FAQ

PVA COOLING TOWEL

Cold Factor cooling towels work by using hyper evaporative cooling technology to create its cooling effect. The towel acts like a sponge and absorbs 10X its weight in water when fully saturated. The addition of water to the towel as well as airflow is what activates the technology. After saturating in water (water of any temperature will work) we suggest giving the towel a few shakes to increase air exposure to kick start the cooling.

Once activated, the towel will stay cool for up to 5 hours. Total cooling duration will depend on a variety of variables, with the most important factor being the amount of water in the towel. In a very dry climate, the towel will dry out faster then when in a humid environment. As the towel starts to dry out and becomes stiff, simply rewet to quickly reactivate.

At Cold Factor, we set out to improve the PVA cooling towel technology by working with technical cooling experts. Some brands like to add a busy pattern onto one side of the towel because it hides imperfections in the product and allows them to use less of the cooling PVA material. When you add a pattern to the towel, it compresses the amount of cooling material that is available to absorb water and in turn, reduces the cooling duration. The amount of water held in an evaporative product has a direct correlation to how long it stays cool. At Cold Factor, we believe in offering the highest quality product and strategically minimized the amount of pattern on the towel to provide our customers the very best experience.

Good question! There are different types of cooling technologies available depending on a customers personal preference. PVA material is an advanced option that acts as a sponge and absorbs more water than microfiber, making a longer lasting option. PVA also offers a more regulated evaporative effect than microfiber. Testing shows it cools more efficiently. PVA is also thicker and provides effective UPF protection better than microfiber, by blocking the suns harmful UV rays.

No, there are no polymer crystals inside a Cold Factor cooling towel. This means no slimy residue or mess. The towel is made of 100% PVA material that acts as an absorbent sponge to provide cooling relief.

Yes, Cold Factor cooling towels can be cut to a desired shape. There is a mesh lining on the inside of the towel that stabilizes the PVA material. Upon cutting the towel, you may notice a few frays from the mesh, but the towel will active and perform as intended.

The towel is conveniently machine washable on gentle cycle or can be hand washed with gentle detergent. Please note that for best results and continued use the towel should be air dried and not placed in a machine dryer.

Cold Factor cooling towels are designed to provide a premium cooling solution that is reusable and long lasting. With proper care the towel will last for several years.

Good question! There are a few reasons to consider a water bottle with a misting feature. Being hydrated is one of the most important things a person can do to combat heat and keep the body cool. A hydrated body is more easily able to dissipate excess heat than a dehydrated body. Another way to cool down is using evaporative cooling or cooling products. By misting your body with cool water, it will pull heat away as it evaporates into the air. A cooling product works in a similar way and only needs water to activate it.

Sure does! Not only does the bottle conveniently fit in cup holders, it also has a carrying loop handle making it easily portable.

Yes, Cold Factor Hydromist Water Bottle was designed with a pull-top sports cap and a cap cover to double down on leak protection and keep your drinking spout clean.

The Hydromist water bottle is dishwasher safe for easy care and cleaning.

Yes! The Cold Factor Hydromist Water Bottle strategically has a misting function to help activate cooling towels and other accessories that keep you cool and comfortable.

COOLING HEADBAND AND HELMET LINER

Cold Factor cooling products work by using hyper evaporative cooling technology to create its cooling effect. The hydrophilic and hydrophobic fibers absorb 5X its weight in water when fully saturated. The addition of water, as well as airflow is what instantly activates the technology. After saturating in water (water of any temperature will work) we suggest giving it a few shakes to increase air exposure to kick start the cooling.

Once activated, the material will stay cool for up to 2 hours. Total cooling duration will depend on a variety of variables, with the most important factor being the amount of water in the towel. In a very dry climate, the towel will dry out faster than when in a humid environment. As the towel starts to dry, simply rewet to quickly reactivate.

At Cold Factor, we set out to improve evaporative cooling technology by working with industry leading experts. Some brands like to add moisture wicking treatments to create a cooling effect at a cheaper price. Unfortunately, this is only temporary and washes off after multiple washes. While we do have a moisture wicking treatment on our microfiber cooling products, we also utilize fibers that have an inherent hydrophilic/hydrophobic core to ensure the cooling you love and need lasts the lifetime of the product. At Cold Factor, we believe in offering the highest quality and strategically design our products to provide our customers the very best experience.

Good question! There are different types of cooling technologies available depending on a customers personal preference. Microfiber cooling is soft when dry and activated, unlike PVA which tends to dry stiff. Microfiber is portable, easy to activate and wear on the go. It’s also an effective material for sun protection and offers UPF protection by blocking the sun’s harmful UV rays.

No, there are no polymer crystals inside Cold Factor products. This means no slimy residue or mess.

Yes, it can be used to wipe away sweat during a workout. It is soft enough to be used to wipe away sweat on the face and neck without irritation and the anti-odor treatment ensures there is not unpleasant scents.

All products are conveniently machine washable on gentle cycle or can be hand washed with gentle detergent. Please note that for best results and continued use the towel should be air dried and not placed in a machine dryer.
